01 About the App
Bookmark It is an Android application that lets you save links shared from other apps (such as Instagram, YouTube, and web browsers). When you share a link to Bookmark It, the App fetches publicly available metadata for that link (such as title, description, and preview image) and lets you save and organize it into folders.
02 Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Bookmark It stores the following information locally on your device to provide its core functionality:
- Links (URLs) you choose to save
- Titles, descriptions, and preview images automatically fetched for those links
- Folders and labels you create to organize your links
- Any notes or edits you make to your saved links
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
We use third-party services that collect limited, non-identifying information to help us understand app usage and improve stability:
- Firebase Analytics (Google): Collects standard, default analytics events such as app opens, screen views, session duration, device model, operating system version, app version, and general region/country (derived from IP address, which is not stored). This data is aggregated and does not include the contents of your saved links or any personally identifying details.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Collects crash and error reports, including device state, OS version, and diagnostic logs at the time of a crash, to help us fix bugs and improve reliability.
- Firebase Remote Config (Google): Used to deliver configuration values to the App. It does not collect personal information.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or any other personally identifiable information.
03 How We Use Information
We use the automatically collected information to:
- Understand how the App is used and which features are popular
- Diagnose and fix crashes and technical problems
- Improve the performance, stability, and user experience of the App
Your saved links and folders are used solely to provide the App's functionality on your device.
04 Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Information is shared only with the third-party service providers listed above (Google/Firebase) strictly for the purposes of analytics and crash reporting. Their handling of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests.
05 Network Requests
When you save a link, the App makes a network request to the link's URL to retrieve publicly available metadata (title, description, image). These requests are made directly from your device to the destination website. We do not store the contents of these requests on our servers.
06 Data Retention and Deletion
- Local data: Your saved links and folders remain on your device until you delete them within the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
- Analytics and crash data: Aggregated analytics and crash data is retained by Firebase according to Google's standard retention policies.
07 Data Security
Your bookmark content is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's own security mechanisms. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited diagnostic data processed through Firebase. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
08 Children's Privacy
Bookmark It is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us.
09 Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights regarding data collected about you. Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, our ability to identify data associated with a specific individual is limited. You can:
- Delete your saved content at any time within the App
- Disable analytics collection through your device or by uninstalling the App
- Contact us with any privacy-related questions
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
